It is one of artist Ari Roussimoff’s most important Masonic artworks. This unique Surrealist composition was one part of Roussimoff’s three painting triptych titled “Parable of Light and Shadow” which was prominently exhibited for eight years at the Chancellor Robert R. Livingston Masonic Library and Museum of the Grand Lodge of New York in New York City where it was greatly admired by visitors from all over the world. The composition of “Eclipse” depicts a darkened world ravaged by sickness, moral decay and the overall destruction caused by the sinful misdeeds and neglect of mankind’s needs. Yet within the shadows there will always be those seeking light. Those who hold dear to their to their principles of morality, spirituality, love and passion. They will rise from the ashes and walk into the light. These individuals are the hope for the future. To the right of the canvas is an altar with the Holy Bible and Masonic square and compass.
