An Incredibly Masterful Example of Judaica Art, Painted by the World Famous Russian-European Painter and Film Director Ari Roussimoff.

”IN THE SYNAGOGUE” is a Incredible Gem. A Truly Spectacular Painting. This Highly Detailed Work is a Genuine Signed & Dated Ari Roussimoff Oil on Canvas Painting, measuring 16 x 20 inches. This Exceptionally Beautiful Rendering was begun in the year 1974 and completed in 2001. “IN THE SYNAGOGUE” takes place in a Traditional Russian or Eastern European Shtetl (Small Jewish Town) Synagogue. After Completion of the Services, the Rabbi, at his Table (Tisch), Delivers a Wisdom-Filled Sermon before the Enthusiastic Members of his Loyal Congregation. The Hassidim are Deeply Immersed in his Spiritual Words. Note the Enraptured Facial Expressions on Each Person. In the distance we see the Exquisitely Beautiful Ark and the Bimah. Ornate Brass Chandeliers dangle overhead. On the right-side of the room is a window looking out to a view of a street with its small wooden Russian Shtetl homes. The Architecture and the Décor of the Synagogue itself reveals the Magnificent Tradition of Jewish Prayer Houses as they once were all across Russia, Poland, Ukraine, and throughout Eastern Europe. The costuming of the worshipers is also typical of Eastern Europe (although many religious Jews still dress this way today). The Rabbi and some of the Congregants are wearing the high fur hat, known as a “Spodick”. Others wear the more common "Shtreiml", a fur hat comprised of thirteen animal tails. Naturally, the married men wear Prayer Shawls (Talleisim). There is some really beautiful and mystical symbolism in this highly poetic work. This sensitive and magnificently coloured artistic portrayal of Jewish Religious Life before the war in Europe really Comes to Life Before One’s Very Own Eyes. Paintings in this theme and of such high quality are a genuine rarity. Influenced by the sophisticated techniques of the Old 16th and 17th Century Dutch and Italian Masters, Roussimoff created this penetrating work by the use of many layers of colour and an abundance of delicate glazes. Still, it is an overall Spirit of Humanity and Love which strikes the viewer First and Foremost. THIS PAINTING IS A GUARANTEED GEM!
