CARNIVAL IN UKRAINIAN VILLAGE

CARNIVAL IN UKRAINIAN VILLAGE

2010 Acrylic on Canvas-Panel 16 x 20

The Carnival has come to town. Villagers have come to partake in a joyous celebration of music, magic and unique wonders. The stage is set with a colorful group of carnival and sideshow performers and freaks: Cossack Giant, Bearded Lady with fancy feathered hat, Musical Dwarfs, Sword Swallower, clowns, jesters, musicians and sexy dancing girls. Under the auspices of the Czars, a Russian circus serves to amuse the Ukrainian townsfolk. In the distance are small houses and a great ancient church with steeples proudly overseeing all. A fantastical composition, the interpretation is quite true to life. In olden days, the carnivals would come to town and would often set up behind the church and near the marketplace. Roussimoff has captured this spirit beautifully. This is a richly colored image from Ukrainian and Russian Circus history. Since early childhood, the artist has been fascinated by circuses, sideshows and carnivals. “CARNIVAL IN UKRAINIAN VILLAGE” is an Authentic Signed and Dated Ari Roussimoff Acrylic on Canvas-Panel Painting measuring 16 x 20 inches and dating from 2010. Buyer will receive a certificate of authenticity. This painting is a true gem! A perfect addition to any quality collection of fine art or Slavic culture.
