Abraham Sacrificing Isaac Link

“ABRAHAM SACRIFICING ISAAC” is a Genuine Signed and Dated Ari Roussimoff Oil on Canvas Painting, measuring a large 30 x 40 inches. There is a story behind the creation of this most expressive work. Originally painted in 1973, and although not finished, the artist felt he captured a nice inner spiritual quality that he feared he might lose if he worked any further on the picture. So for a great many years, this painting stood as it was in its first, un-finished state. Then in the year 2005, perhaps partially as a need to once again connect to his spiritual self, Roussimoff took out his “ABRAHAM SACRIFICING ISAAC” and studied it carefully. Looking at the picture, he received a sudden burst of inspiration. Preparing his tubes of colour and brushes, Roussimoff began once again to work on this composition and brought the canvas to its wonderful and most successful conclusion. This is an outstanding interpretation of the Jewish Patriarch Abraham’s Test of Faith. He is depicted as a genuine human being, not unlike most moral members of mankind. To the artist, Abraham, like all of humanity is being tested by God every day. In Abraham’s eyes there is tremendous conflict and anguish. We witness the great pain of this loving Father who was asked to sacrifice his beloved son as proof his devotion to God. In Heaven above, this landmark historic episode is being watched over by a group of benevolent angels. This is an amazing and highly symbolic representation of a Biblical subject. Glowingly poetic Impressionist colours and thick Expressionistic brushstrokes make for a very living image. This is a work of great Sensitivity and Incredible Power. A Painting that is Timeless and Universal in Appeal.

This Beautiful Oil Painting dates from 1973. “ABRAHAM SACRIFICING ISAAC” is a most expressive and enjoyable work of art. A fantastic centerpiece for any collection of fine Art and Judaica. The purchaser will receive a certificate of authenticity.
